Supporting the Northern Powerhouse Boxing Academy.
Supporting Our Community with Northern Powerhouse Boxing Academy!
The Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge has awarded a £1,620 grant to the Northern Powerhouse Boxing Academy (NPBA), the UK’s first women-led boxing club. This grant will support NPBA's vital work in promoting physical and mental well-being through boxing and social inclusion.
NPBA offers accessible fitness programmes for people aged 7 to 77, including fully funded classes and specialised workshops. These workshops cover a wide range of topics, such as teenage self-defence, menopause support, and neurodivergent-friendly sessions. In 2024 alone, NPBA recorded an impressive 6,500 visits, reflecting their significant impact on the community.
This grant will help NPBA equip their new premises at the Trades Club in Hebden Bridge. This new space will serve as a central hub for their activities and other local groups. With its proximity to Calder Holmes Park, the venue will also enable outdoor sessions, fostering community engagement and promoting safety.
NPBA's transformative work includes the only exercise class for teenage girls in the Upper Calder Valley. Additionally, they offer supportive spaces for individuals navigating menopause and those who feel excluded from traditional gyms. Their inclusive approach ensures that everyone, regardless of age or ability, can benefit from their programmes.
By supporting NPBA, we are not only investing in their mission but also contributing to a healthier, more connected community. The Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge is proud to support NPBA's inclusive vision.
