Mytholmroyd Community Association

We are proud to announce a £2,000 grant to the Mytholmroyd Community Association to help bridge the funding gap in this latest stage of their ambitious renovation and expansion project. The funding will contribute to essential improvements at the Mytholmroyd Community Centre, helping to increase capacity for popular activities and enhance facilities for the local community.

The Association has been facing significant challenges as demand for their facilities has steadily increased post-pandemic. Currently operating at maximum capacity for many classes and activities, the centre has been forced to turn away community members seeking to participate in popular programs. The renovation project includes replacing an aging asbestos roof, creating a new dedicated space for yoga, Pilates, and dance classes, and completely updating the plumbing system to modern standards. Current yoga and Pilates classes consistently run at capacity with waiting lists of approximately 10 people per class. The expanded facility will increase class capacity from 20 to 30 attendees, allowing more community members to participate.

With the expanded facilities, the Mytholmroyd Community Association plans to significantly broaden their program offerings. The centre will be equipped to host a wider range of community gatherings including New Year's Eve celebrations, community Christmas events, children's parties, and family-focused activities like the Northern Broadside Ironman family fun days.

Future programming plans include innovative activities such as silent discos, arts and craft events, tea dances, and dedicated mother and baby sessions - all made possible by the expanded and improved facilities.

The Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge continues its tradition of supporting valuable community initiatives through its grants program.

We look forward to seeing the completed renovations and the positive impact they will have on the Mytholmroyd community for years to come.
