As part of the Our Vibrant Valley programme, the aim of Light Up The Valley was to help everyone in HX7 and the surrounding hilltop villages to recover from the effects of the various COVID-19 lock downs by literally lighting up their homes and businesses in a festive way – the 2021 theme was Spirit of Winter in the Valley.

Watch this space for details of future Light Up The Valley events.

A core part of the event was to have children to prepare window displays for their homes and schools under the theme – Spirit of Winter in the Valley. Below are some of their fantastic creations.
Heptonstall School class 1 – Nursery and Reception

Heptonstall School class 2 – Year One and Year Two children (5 – 7 years old)

Heptonstall School class 4 – Year Five and Six children (9 – 11 years old)

Scout Road Academy

Colden Junior and Infant School

Burnley Road Academy All of our children made stained glass windows to take home. These are extra ones we made to brighten up our front windows. We are leaving the lights on at night this week to light up our bit of the valley.
