Main Duck Race

Tickets for the Duck Race cost £1 each, available on-line and from numerous shops and pubs in the town,

displaying brightly coloured posters, and from the Visitor Centre besides the Marina.

Tickets will also be on sale from the Rotary stall in Hebden Bridge on several weekends

before Easter and on Easter Monday.

The Duck Race starts at approximately 3.15pm when the ducks are all launched at the same time

into the river, from St George’s Bridge. As many as 10,000 or more, individually numbered

yellow ducks will race down Hebden Water to the finish line at West End bridge.

Throngs of spectators watch from every possible vantage point.

Business Duck Race

Along longside the main duck race, we hold a Business Duck race, starting before the main race at 3.00pm,

principally aimed at local businesses and organisations.
Any organisation or individual can buy a green, red, or blue duck, at a cost of £10 per duck

with the winning red, green or blue ducks giving their business owner the kudos of displaying

winners trophies and plaques and the chance to win prizes.

Thanks to all the businesses for their fantastic support in previous years, and a big thank you to

The Travel Centre, Mytholmroyd

for Their sponsorship.

Decorated Duck Competition

Each year local Playgroups, Nurseries & Schools  are invited to enter the competition. Eligible organisations that would like to enter the competition can contact us at:

There are two categories each with a prize of £100. All the entries are displayed in various shop windows in

Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd, allowing everyone to appreciate not only their efforts

and hard work but also the fun that had gone into preparing them and to vote for their favorite.
