Hebden Bridge Boundary Walk

The date of the 2018 walk will be announced in due course.

The Boundary walk is a spectacular, way marked, walk
through some of the most beautiful country in the South Pennines.

 The start and finish of the walk is at: Mytholmroyd Community and Leisure Centre, Caldene Avenue, Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge,  HX7 5AF


All participants will receive a detailed Route Description when they check in at the registration desk at Mytholmroyd Community Centre. Caldene Avenue, Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge,HX7 5AF (see above map), on the day of the walk.

The registration desk will open at 8.00am and close at 9.30am. Walkers will not be able to start the walk after 9.30am.

Walkers who have pre booked, online must still check in at the registration desk before starting the walk. For those who have not pre booked, on the day registration will only take a few minutes and there will be a number of volunteers at the desk to help with any problems or questions.

Al participants will be given a piece of flapjack and a piece of fruit. Water and orange juice will be available at all check points. Walkers wanting additional refreshments are recommended to bring their own as there very few opportunities to buy food or drink on or near the route.

The walk takes in some of the most spectacular scenery in the South Pennines and, in walking terms is described as moderately difficult.

It is approximately 23 miles including an optional Widdop & Gorple reservoir loop.

The walk includes the beautiful wooded valleys of Hardcastle Crags and the commanding heights of the moors above the Luddenden Valley.
Runners are welcome to join in but we do ask them to check in and start their run as early as possible.
The walk covers a large part of the Wadsworth Parish Boundary and is in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
You can terminate your walk at any checkpoint and transport back into Hebden Bridge will be available, free of charge. Drinks are available at each checkpoint.
The walk will begin  at Community Centre Mytholmroyd, if this changes we will announce the new venue on this website and our facebook page) then up on to Midgley Moor, Luddenden Dean, Limers Gate to Keighley Road, Lumb Falls, Walshaw Dean reservoirs, Widdop,
Hardcastle Crags and back to Mytholmroyd. Total distance of approximately 23 miles (with the option to omit the 4 mile reservoir loop).
We encourage walkers to download a sponsor form, it is great achievement to walk or run 23 miles and contribute to a worthwhile cause. So get yourself sponsored.

Under exceptional circumstances, such as bad weather or restrictions imposed by landowners or DEFRA, the route may be changed at short notice.
